Monobloc - The world’s most hated chair

The Monobloc chair — love it or hate it, you’ve definitely sat on one. It’s been mass-produced over a billion times, found everywhere from family gatherings to music videos and museum exhibitions. This artwork takes that everyday object and reimagines it through the lens of pop art — exploring nostalgia, design, and how something so ordinary can become iconic. Each piece is laser-cut, hand-painted, and assembled in my studio in Berlin. Turning 300 grams of plastic into a story about memory, belonging, and shared culture.

The Monobloc Chair wall sculpture celebrates one of the most ubiquitous design objects in the world — the plastic chair that has quietly shaped gatherings, backyards, and street corners across the globe.

Loved and hated in equal measure, this mass-produced chair becomes, through art, a symbol of community, nostalgia, and global connection. Each piece is designed, laser-cut, painted, and assembled by hand in Berlin, turning an object of everyday simplicity into a statement about culture and belonging.

Playful yet reflective, this artwork transforms 300 grams of plastic inspiration into a timeless commentary on design, memory, and the beauty of the ordinary.
